Crossroads tonight @ 7...

There is a battle quietly raging within you. The battle is over whether you will passively accommodate the enemy of your soul—pride—or actively cultivate your best friend—humility. When you acknowledge the deception of pride and intentionally humble yourself, you will find a new life is yours, a life God richly favors. A God-glorifying life you don't want to miss. Wednesday at 7 p.m. Bonfire to follow outside!

Make plans to join us tonight as the 2 Crossroads home fellowship groups face off in a video scavenger hunt! It will be a race against time to accomplish some pretty crazy tasks, so come ready to work! Tasks captured on video will be awarded points based upon difficulty. Both groups will meet at the home of Jeff & Brittnia Papendorf at 7 p.m.(Don't show up at the Banks' home, nobody will be there). Jeff & Brittnia live at 3230 S. 85th Street in Milwaukee. For a map, click here. For more info, contact Jeff or Brittnia at 414-604-1592.

Crosswalk makes Celebrate Freedom Video

The above video was filmed Thursday at the Crosswalk group of Jake Olson, Aaron Lutter & Jerad Pearson. Well done guys, and the point hits home. The best to reach our friends and family with the gospel message is one on one, via personal invitations, and not plastering posters all around town.

Be sure to be inviting your friends, family and neighbors to celebrate freedom, which will be on July 2nd! There will be a great patriotic musical in the 8 a.m. & 10:30 a.m. services, and a picnic at noon with food from Chili's, Famous Dave's, Papa John's, DiCarlo's, rock climbing, volleyball, games and more!

Do you enjoy discipline? Did you like receiving spankings growing up? I didn’t think so! This week we’re going to take a look at the reasons why God disciplines us. What are the different ways he chooses to correct us, and how can respond in a Biblical way? A fascinating study ahead.

Plus

Bonfire and Limbo after Crossroads! Meet new people, make a smore or two, and see how flexible you are with the game of limbo.

2 Weddings and a Funeral

There is both exciting and sad news today in Crossroads. The sad news first. Jon Dew, who attended Oak Creek Assembly of God and Crossroads up through 2004 passed away this week, and his funeral was this afternoon. Jon was only 27 years old, and had gone through cancer. I was able to come to the visitation, and I know the family would appreciate any kind words. You can sign their online guestbook here.

On the bright side, two couples from Crossroads are getting married today! I will be marrying Kurt Stanford and Lindsay Hannah at the church today at 6:30 p.m., and Aaron Thiele and Katie Allen are being married in her hometown of Mishawaka, Indiana today at 4 p.m. I'm excited that both couples will be living in Milwaukee, and they're all much valued by our church and Crossroads. Congrats!

Product Advisory

Back in March, many of you went to Chuck E Cheese after Crossroads and feverishly worked on earning tickets. The tickets were compiled, and totalled over 2,000, allowing us to buy something special for the ministry of Crossroads. What we chose to buy was this disco ball, which was used the following week. I'm sad to report that I received the following product advisory from Chuck E Cheese last week:

Chuck E. Cheese’s, in cooperation with official agencies, is investigating this product for possible involvement in a fire or smoke inhalation incident. We recommend that you unplug and not use this product until this investigation is completed. As is true with all products that you purchase or receive at Chuck E. Cheese’s, you may exchange the Manley Disco Light for a product of comparable value if you are not completely satisfied.
