Weekend Update...

Join us on Wednesday nights in September as we open the book of Revelation and explore prophesies that have already occured and some that are yet to come. The Bible has much to say about what's next for our world, so don't miss these special messages by guest speaker Jim Cruse! And don't forget about all the house parties that will be happening afterwards! A great night to bring a friend.

The young adult weekend is coming up September 29-October 1st at Spencer Lake, and you need to be there. If you register by 9/15, cost is $65. After 9/15 the cost is $75. This will be a great time of getting closer to God and getting away from it all. There will be an excellent worship team and speaker, relevant workshops, bonfires, the lake, sports & games, and lots of new friends. For more information on this retreat, click here.

Tonight @ 7pm is the final week of...

Join us tonight as Matt & Gina Ditzer contrast society's and the Bible's pictures of marriage. And bring your probing questions, as our marriage panel will be back. Marriage might be a lot closer for you than you think, so get the right start tonight in Crossroads.

Mike Kramer has informed me that he is starting a marriage enrichment series on 9/16 at the Franklin library, and is looking for people to help with child care. If you're interested, call Mike or Beth at 414-421-8740.

Finally, this past Saturday was so much fun at the rock wall. As you may or may not know, Crossroads sponsored the rock wall this year at the Son-Shine Festival, and it was a big hit. In fact, I would estimate at least 400 people climbed the wall during 3 hours. I'll share more observations about this day later.

Tonight @ 7pm...

Join us for week 2 of ‘How to Not Marry a Loser!’. The guys and gals will break up into separate groups, where we’ll discuss reasons why girls settle for the wrong guy, and vice versa. We’ll also look at the requirements scripture lays out for what the person we marry looks like! This will be a very interesting study, so don’t miss out, and bring a friend!

Weekend Update...

Make sure to take some time out tonight to join us for Six 2 Six; non-stop worship, praise & prayer from 6 pm tonight to 6 am Saturday. This extended window of time is the perfect opportunity to get away with God, and to hear from him. It's worth the time.

And don't forget our cookout and co-ed softball match-up this Sunday at 12:30! Bring a lawn chair or blanket if possible, and a glove or bat if you have one.

Meet Peter...

One of the new guys that has been coming out to Crossroads lately is Peter Jakubowski. He is a student at UWM, and is a fantastic photographer. You can take a look at some of his pictures on his site. And be sure to meet someone new this week!

Stain on Couch

I've been going over some final revisions on my sermon for tomorrow morning, and I accidently got some black pen marks on my sofa. I didn't know what exactly to do, so I went online to see if there was information on cleaning microfiber furniture. I came across this site, and found it hillarious! You need to check it out. And if you know how to get rid of pen marks, let me know tomorrow at church! Soap and warm water didn't work.

This Wednesday at 7 pm...

This week in Crossroads we're beginning a new 3 week series on finding the right one God's way. Matt & Gina Ditzer will be teaching this Wednesday on 'What your married friends aren't telling you'. What are some of the biggest misconceptions about life after marriage, and what does the Bible say about preparing for matrimony? I promise you you'll laugh and learn a whole lot this month, so I'll see you and a friend tomorrow at 7!

Crossroads Softball 2006

Ladies and Gentlemen, your 2006 Crossroads softball team! Thanks to the great leadership of Gabe Ledbetter, this 2 year old team improved their record from 3-12 last season to 10-5 this year!

Here's our coach, Gabe, scoring yet another run.

Ryan Banks, although exhausted, always gets the job done.

Tim Williams has a magnet in his glove. It's amazing-he never drops a ball.

Deric Wallace plays shotstop. He goes by 'DW' or 'Derelict'

Crossroads games are more fun because Crossroad fans are more fun! This picture doesn't necessarily capture the excitement, though.

Rain Delay...

Just as we talked about in the services this morning, sometimes the best laid plans change. We will be rescheduling our softball match-up against Kenosha for a later Sunday due to the rain. I'll keep you posted.

This Sunday...(directions to park listed below)

Have you noticed the amount of uncertainty around lately? Everyone is talking about the fighting in the Middle East, rising gas prices, and wondering if we're headed towards some really hard days. But did you know that there is a promise found in Deuteronomy that tells us as Christians we have nothing to worry about? Don't miss the services this Sunday morning!

Then after 2nd service join us for the Crossroads cookout! Play in or watch our co-ed softball match-up against Kenosha Assembly's young adult group!

The cookout will be at Jewell Park, which is less than 1 mile from the church. Directions: Turn left out of parking lot, and turn left on Rawson Ave. Turn right on 20th Street, and turn right on Wood Ave. The Park will be on the left, and we'll be cooking towards the playground area.

If you have a chair, bring a chair! See you there!
