Crossroads: June 13 @ 7pm...

We’ll investigate this strange gathering of people and find out what it says about God, and us. In fact, could it be that God wants us to have more parties today? To truly live life to the full and invite others to do the same? Find out this Wednesday @ 7pm

What if we didn’t assume our friends would say ‘no’? What if we extended an invitation to any and everybody to experience the community we enjoy in Crossroads? What if we introduced others to Jesus? Next Wednesday is ‘if’ night: invite a friend! Free pizza and lawn games to follow.

In Crossroads this May...

The biggest lies are the ones we never notice.

Meet four deceivers who share a common goal: your gradual destruction. You can't see them. You can't hear them. And you'd swear you'd never believe them. But when the rules are bent, lives are broken. And by the time you notice, it's already too late. Join us Wednesdays at 7pm for Twisted, a series by northpoint.

Many have asked where the Brunch is located. It is at the Boerner Botanical Gardens in Whitnal Park. Click here for a map. I recommend taking Rawson Ave to 92nd Street, turn right, then at the next 4 way stop turn left into the park, and follow the signs.

Please meet us inside the conservatory building, in the foyer, between 12:30 and 12:45 so we can take pictures. We will be seated at 1pm. If you haven't paid yet, please bring $25 in cash. See you there!

Sunday After Dark

Thanks to everyone in Crossroads who greeted, ushered, and served Sunday night!
Sunday After Dark begins with a video intro. We were able to learn some great new worship songs Sunday night.
Again, thanks to everyone who helped serve! You are a fantastic first impression to our church.

A surprise from the evening was how many people wanted to purchase the Crossroads shirt. Kids from 10 years old to adults in their 40's, numerous people all wanted to identify with us via wearing our clothing. Then it struck me. Are kids looking up to us as cool? As role models? Parents asked me if they could purchase our shirts for their kids, and I agreed, stating that they would be a walking billboard for Crossroads. Perhaps people older and younger do look up to us. Perhaps many in our community are role models for the church as a whole. Perhaps this influence is a gift from God. Sunday After Dark left me with the perception that this indeed is our reality. May we model character, servanthood, and crazy good times for the next generation.

Just in from Sunburst...

A manager from Sunburst Ski Area called me this morning, and informed me they will be closing the ski hill today, and cancelled our outing. Perhaps we will try for a later date. Stay warm and safe this weekend, and see you tomorrow in Sunday School! We have a great topic about the 'off road' discipline of humility.

More Reading On Heaven...

The reaction to last night has led me to believe that there is a lot of interest on the topic of Heaven. Thus, here are some links with some good reading on the subject from Author Randy Alcorn.

Sean Bolli on a mission...

Sean Bolli, who starting attending Crossroads in 2006 left this past fall for an internship with 'YWAM' or Youth With A Mission. He went through several months of training, and how he's getting hands-on experience in the Dominican Republic. He wrote to me this morning that he's been ministering in orphanages, to those who have leprosy, and even prostitutes. Join me in asking God to use Sean in big ways. Sean will return home later this spring.

In case you haven't noticed, everybody is having babies! There are 7 expecting couples in Crossroads, and I couldn't be prouder of this group. Strong marriages, strong commitment to Christ and to each other is going to lead to some above-average kids! The latest...

Shane Birr holds Serena Renee Birr! Serena was born to Shane & Anitra Birr on January 6!
