Big night out...

What are you passionate about? John Huburt is apparently very excited about the release of Apple's new operating system, waiting in a line of hundreds of people Friday night to get into the Apple store at Mayfair. Let John know what a great job he does with computer stuff for Crossroads and for church!

Leaders Wanted:

Tonight at Crossroads we are beginning an exciting series on leadership development, preparing ourselves for what God wants to do amongst us this summer and beyond. John Maxwell says in his book 'The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership' that to add growth, lead followers. But to multiply, lead leaders. God has given each one of you influence, an ability to make a positive change in the world, and I'm praying that many will accept the call to be a leader! The journey starts tonight at 7pm.

You're on Camera...

Look what the cameras captured Sunday during the 10:30am service. A crowd shot was needed, and Nate thought the Crossroads section would do the trick, but a note being passed by Dan Robinson voided the shot. Remember, this could happen to you!

Joe Fadness! Joe, who is a junior at Marquette has been interning at the white house this semester. He sent me an e-mail today, sharing all the world leaders he's met in the last few months. When at church, Joe regularly helps out as an usher. Make sure to keep him in your prayers. Way to represent Crossroads Joe!

Get more for your Money: Tonight @7

Come to Crossroads tonight where we'll look at what the Bible says is wisdom concerning our money. We spend the best part of our day earning the stuff, so how can it go the farthest for us and for God. This is what we'll be discussing. Let me also encourage you to come early tonight for prayer. Over the last couple of days my heart has been heavy with some very serious needs in our group, including a recent visitor who is in the hospital now. Prayer begins at 6:30, so see you there! -Jon

Mini Golf Anyone?

Hey, since spring seems to finally be here, I think it would be fun to go mini golfing tonight. I called both places on Layton Ave, and they're both open. I was thinking of going sometime between 7-8? If interested, give me or Billy Martin a call.

Crossroads MATC Outreach

Heres a picture of our table with students interested in free donuts and more information about Crossroads. As you can see, Josh Kalis is hard at work spreading the good news.

Here is Madelin, Jon and Adam at our second MATC outreach representing with the Krispy Kreme hats and donuts. We had 300 donuts for our outreach.

Busy week ahead...

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow night at Crossroads, excited to hear your ideas for what to hand out at our next MATC Outreach. It's amazing what God can do through the simple handing out of coffee, or a warm smile, when we do it on God's behalf. Matthew 10:42 says "And whoever in the name of a disciple gives to one of these little ones even a cup of cold water to drink, truly I say to you, he shall not lose his reward." So bring your best ideas, then we'll vote, and we'll collect an offering to give to this cause. Thank you for all of you who have such a heart to reach everyone with Jesus' love. God's favor is with us!

Some of us are thinking about seeing the new Robots movie, or Pacifier. Knowing you guys like I do, I bet you're also hungry, so we should plan on getting something to eat. There have been lots of birthdays lately, but today is Marlo Kasper's, so make sure to give her a call and wish her happy birthday! Yesterday was Nick Toniazzo's birthday, so it wouldn't hurt to give him a buzz either. Let's celebrate these 2 birthdays by going out Sunday night after service!

If you're a MATC Student and reading this, welcome to Crossroads, a college-age group designed just for you. If you have been wanting to have a closer relationship with God, we're here as a resource. Please consider joining us this Wednesday, March 2nd, at 7pm, and check out our meeting. We'll have worship, an easy to apply message, and free pizza afterwards. We look forward to meeting you.

Conquering and to Conquer

I don't know about you, but I'm very excited about our opportunity coming up to be a blessing to MATC. Remember that this is something we all need to participate in, whether praying or being at the event on Tuesday. Never underestimate how important and impacting your prayers are.

I want to share a short devotional that I read yesterday that I feel applies quite well to our present situation. This is an exerpt from 'God at Eventide', by A.J. Russell:

Always seek some conquest, for spiritual growth requires it. In the natural world you see how necessary this striving is, and in the mental and spiritual worlds there must be a struggle too.
So, as you go forward in your spiritual life, you will see always a fresh conquest demanding your effort.
Shun stagnation. Never be discouraged if always you see some fault requiring to be overcome, some obstacle to be surmounted.
Thus you go forth with Me conquering and to conquer.
