Friend Nite

Wednesday night at Crossroads was friends night, where we continued our series on Heaven, and headed to Grand Slam USA afterwards for laser tag, basketball, spaceball, a climbing wall, and batting cages. 18 guests came out, so thanks goes to everyone who brought a friend! Thanks also goes to Amy Ellinger for taking these pictures, and to Jen Rieger for formatting them.

Jen made a few videos from the evening. If you'd like to watch them, click here.

Frankie J is a regular 'slugger'.

Sunday Cookout

No need to worry. Greg has everything under control. Sunday we gathered for a cookout at my alda mater, Cedar Hills School.

This shot captures Eric telling another interesting story.

The Harman's made sure there was enough soda for all.

Always fashionable Rachel brings the watermelon.

Mike takes a break from the grillin' action.

Gabe finds the weather just perfect for a ride down the slide.

This Wednesday at 7 bring your friends for a special Crossroads. After our series on Heaven we'll be going to Grand Slam USA for laser tag, batting cages, basketball, video games, soda, and it's all free. A great opportunity to bring a friend to our church!

Friday Night Events

Would you like to help get the word out about the upcoming illustrated sermon on Friday? Then join us in the south parking lot at 6pm tonight. We will be canvassing neighborhoods in Oak Creek, inviting them to this life-changing production. Plan to be a part.

Secondly, Kenny Bishop is having a gathering at his new house tonight starting at 8pm, and everyone is invited. Kenny lives at 3655 E. Underwood Ave in Cudahy. If you have questions, call Kenny at 414-477-7259.

Today is our monthly day of fasting and prayer at Oak Creek Assembly of God. Let me encourage you to participate in this day, as much as you are possible. Lately I've been encouraged by various answered prayers, and I'm reminded that prayer does work, even though we may not understand how or why. Remember to keep in mind the many suffering today as a result of the hurricane yesterday.

Crossroads Cookout Tonight

Join us at 6:30 pm at the home of Mike and Kelly Ganiere for a cookout and a night of games and fun. Please bring a dish to pass, preferrably a dessert! I guess fruit would be fine too. The Ganiere's live at 10045 S. Windsor Drive in Oak Creek. Questions, Call Ryan Banks at 414-659-2353. See you there.

Pictures from the Brewers' Game on Saturday

Liz enjoys her Brat while we tailgated at the Brewers' game on Saturday

Jen and Gabe work on eating their Brats at the Tailgating

Ryan and Kristen smile for the camera

Jon and Travis are caught off guard...maybe should have warned them they were getting their picture taken

Gabe, Windy, and Eddie watch the game from our seats at the top of the stadium

After the disappointing loss by the Brewers, we went down to Starbucks in the Third Ward, and then walked along the new Riverwalk

Pictures from last Sunday's Crossroads' Kickball Game

Mike Ganiere talks on his cell phone while he's supposed to be playing first base, luckily for him it was a foul ball.

Missy is the next up to kick as the rest of the team stands by watching.

Derek kicks the ball way out into right field.

Nick kicks the ball right down the third base line.

Starting next Wednesday in Crossroads we're beginning a new series on Heaven. It's a subject that often receives little time, and consequently we can't begin to imagine what our new home will be like. Come ready to stretch your imagination and set your sights towards Heaven.

Sunday Cookout

Eddie Willing and Frankie Jordan grilled for us Sunday afternoon next to the dumpsters. Thanks guys, and job well done! About 40 stayed after second service for some food and kickball. Thanks also goes to Joanie Wrede for donating the hamburgers!

Of course we paused to thank God for the food we're about to eat. I must have had something in my eye.

Thanks to everyone who brought food!

Shh...Sunday was quite hot, so we trespassed onto the neighbors property to find some shade.

Jeremy and Elisa find the burgers finger lickin good.

Dan Robinson was smart and pulled out his cowboy hat on this hot and sunny day
